history. The Bayeux Tapestry
a historical record created in the 11th Century is the only
masterpiece of this kind in the world.
It is an embroidery on linen cloth using wool of various colors.
The manufacture of this work was in all probability entrusted to an
Anglo-Saxon work shop supervised by Odon de Condeville, Bishop of Bayeux and half brother of William the Conqueror.
This play on a stage of over 70 meters long and centimeters high,
retraces the history of the conquest of England by William the Conqueror.
The story begins in 1064. At
